Science

The Associate in Science (A.S.) in Science degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. The program provides a strong foundation in mathematics and laboratory sciences, while allowing students to choose a concentration aligned with their academic and career goals. Because science majors require carefully sequenced coursework—particularly in mathematics—students should review the available concentration options and select the appropriate course sequence based on their starting level in math. Early planning with faculty and Advising & Transfer Services is strongly recommended to ensure timely graduation and successful transfer.

Students are encouraged to choose a concentration to guide their studies and get on a pathway to transfer. A concentration is an advising structure used to help students focus their coursework within a broader degree program. Concentrations provide guidance toward a particular area of interest or intended transfer major and ensure students complete the appropriate prerequisite courses. A concentration is not a separate major or credential and will not appear on the diploma or transcript.
