Health Administration Concentration

Program Description

The Healthcare Administration Concentration within the Associate in Science in Business Administration is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, health services management, or a related field.

This concentration combines core business principles with an introduction to the structure and operations of healthcare systems. Students examine topics such as healthcare management, ethics, policy, finance, and organizational leadership within medical and community health settings. Coursework emphasizes analytical thinking, professional communication, and an understanding of regulatory and operational environments in healthcare organizations.

The program provides a strong business foundation while preparing students for upper-level study in healthcare-focused management programs.

Transfer Information

The Healthcare Administration concentration is structured to align with bachelor’s degree programs in healthcare administration, health services management, public health (administration track), and related disciplines.

Students are encouraged to work closely with faculty and Advising & Transfer Services to ensure coursework aligns with the requirements of their intended transfer institution. Students planning to transfer within New Jersey should explore the “Transfer Programs” feature on NJ Transfer (www.njtransfer.org) to review articulation agreements and institutional requirements.

Because healthcare management programs may have specific prerequisites, early academic planning is strongly recommended.
