Sociology and Anthropology Concentration

Program Description

The Sociology and Anthropology Concentration is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree in sociology, anthropology, or a related social science field.

This concentration explores how individuals, groups, and cultures shape and are shaped by social systems. Students examine topics such as social institutions, inequality, culture, globalization, and human diversity across societies and historical periods. Coursework emphasizes research methods, data analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to interpret social patterns and cultural perspectives.

The program combines a strong behavioral science foundation with focused study of social structures and cultural systems, preparing students for advanced academic study and careers that engage diverse communities.
