Language Supports

Ocean County College is committed to supporting English Language Learners (ELL) through a comprehensive range of English as a Second Language (ESL) programs designed to meet diverse learning needs. The college offers structured ESL courses from Levels 1 through 6, providing a progressive learning path that helps students build foundational reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. These courses are designed to support students at various proficiency levels, equipping them with the language skills necessary for academic, professional, and everyday success.

In addition to formal coursework, Ocean County College fosters a collaborative and engaging learning environment through its ESL Workshops and ESL Conversational Café. The ESL Workshops provide targeted instruction on key language skills, offering learners practical strategies to enhance their communication abilities. Meanwhile, the ESL Conversational Café creates an informal, welcoming space where students can practice English in real-world scenarios, build confidence, and connect with peers. Together, these initiatives ensure that ELL students receive structured instruction and interactive opportunities to strengthen their language proficiency.
