This course is concerned with issues facing the nursing professional today. Special emphasis will be placed on material necessary for a smooth transition from the role of nursing student toward that of practicing nurse. Literature inside and outside the profession will be included to encourage the student to think critically about important issues. Historical perspectives, sociological/financial perspectives, legal, ethical, delegation, globalization, disaster management, management principles, leadership and political issues will be discussed.
